July is here and with it comes warm summer nights, bursting fireworks and an opportunity to create some truly wonderful quilts!
Red, white and blue are the traditional colors of July here in Hamilton, Missouri. There’s no better way to enjoy a fireworks display than laying on a beautiful new quilt created from patriotic fabric just for the occasion! Jenny’s classic Stars and Stripes quilt is an absolute go-to for this time of year!
Hello June! We’ve made it to the sunniest season of the year here in Missouri, with longer days and warm nights filled with all of the simple magical moments that summer brings.
While we may be spending more of our days outside, we have lots of time set aside for quilting, including Jenny’s go-to wedding present, a picnic quilt! We’re such fans of the Charm Quilt on Point, and all it takes are two charms packs and a little bit of yardage!
“The world’s favorite season is the spring. All things seem possible in May.”
-Edwin Way Teale
Green is waving from the trees, yellow dandelions are popping, and our gardens are blooming. The year is beginning to look brighter, and not just because of spring colors. Though we may have missed weddings and graduations, we makers still know how to celebrate!
As you plan out your May projects for Mother’s Day, baby showers, and other life changing events – remember May represents new beginnings and anything is possible!
April showers provide ample opportunity to spend some quality time at the sewing machine. Be it stitching up a Totally Tulips quilt (those showers do bring May flowers after all) or perhaps the new and oh-so-lovely Irish Change, Missouri Star has plenty of inspiration just waiting for you! Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel so you never miss a new quilt tutorial or weekly Missouri Star Live!
Happy National Quilting Month, dear quilters! It’s time to wind up those bobbins, pick out a new project (or 2 or 3 or 4), and start stitching up some quilts!

February is a lot of things – the shortest month of the year, a time to celebrate love with flowers and chocolate, a time to remember and honor the presidents who have served the nation, and even the month of anxiously awaiting a groundhog named Phil to predict the seasons.
What you probably didn’t know is that February also hosts Don’t Cry Over Spilled Milk Day AND Tell a Fairy Tale Day. How fun is that?! February is looking quite fabulous, especially for us makers. With so much to celebrate, there’s a way to find inspiration all month ...
